How To Attract Bats In Gainesville FL

The largest occupied “bat house” in North America is located at the University of Florida in Gainesville and now houses about 100000 bats. The structure was created specifically for them by the University and now provide pest control for the area. Watch as the bats fly out of the bottom of the structure and then up into the sky to fly around the tree.

The original bat house had the capacity of 200000 and the newly erected one in Oct. 2009 can hold up to 400000. The smaller one is to be used as a bat maternity ward, at least that’s what I’ve read…
